Evalyn Parry is a theatre director, creator and performer whose innovative work weaves together elements of social and personal documentary, storytelling, design, poetry, sound and song. Inspired by queer, feminist and other under-documented histories, themes of liberation and ecology, her acclaimed, genre-defying works ‘SPIN’ and ‘Kiinalik: These Sharp Tools’ have toured nationally and internationally. She is the recipient of the KM Hunter Award for Theatre, the Ken McDougall Award for Directing, and several Dora Awards; her work has also been nominated for a Governor General’s Literary Award. From 2015 to 2020, she served as the Artistic Director of Buddies in Bad Times Theatre in Toronto.
