Sonic Sonocho
A music collective founded by Toronto selectresses, olasconola (Ola Mazzuca) & Juana Go-gó (Juana Hermida). Blending a love for music, food and community, they curate and spin the b-sides and the beloved of Latin and international sounds through all-vinyl DJ sets and dynamic live performances.
Sancocho - their namesake soup, made with love by Juana and Ola, served at every event! - is where the cultural and culinary ingredients are shared with one another. From the starches to the spices and everything in between. They give songs a stir and turn up the heat to enjoy a moment of con-nection, within layers of endless movement and fun.
Since the start of our journey in 2023, we have been developing our project with a collaborative, grassroots approach that combines our collective experience as music industry professionals and sonic artists. We blend Latin heritage, First Gen Canadian and diasporic perspectives, driving the pursuit to bring people of all communities together to enjoy our events through shared experiences we know and love: live music and food.
