Alex Yue

Alex Yue is an origami artist. Originally from Hong Kong, Alex took up origami as a hobby at a young age. His hobby quickly developed into a passion, and by 2005, he became a member of the Origami Society of Toronto. Alex has facilitated numerous origami events across Toronto and the GTA, and has been commissioned to create origami pieces for projects running from wedding bouquets to commercial displays, such as photo shoots and television shows. Alex seeks to inspire others to nurture their passion to fruition, much like what he did with the art of paper folding. As a youth worker, Alex uses the art of paper folding as a calming technique that leaves a person with a sense of accomplishment. Alex often strives to inspire youth to create origami pieces as a coping strategy and use them as decorations; it would serve as a continual reminder for their artistic potential.
