Chloe Loftus
Chloe Loftus (she/her) is a force of nature when it comes to dance. Raised in New Zealand, Chloe headed to the UK to complete a BA (Hons) Dance Performance in London and founded Chloe Loftus Dance in 2005. She has since made her mark as a dancer, choreographer, and mass movement director. Her achievements include being nominated for a Theatre Critics of Wales Award for Best Small Scale Dance Production, winning Welsh Independent Dance's 'Dance Bytes', choreographing for Cultural Olympiad events, numerous music and arts festivals and receiving Arts Council and Creative New Zealand funding. Her work is rooted in contemporary and aerial dance, passionate about outdoor arts, cultivating community and inclusivity.
Chloe’s choreographic style is one of nuance and grace. Beyond the jaw-dropping aesthetic of her aerial and contact dance work, Chloe champions the human expression through movement, magnetising the connection between artists and audience. Chloe is renowned for creating mesmerising and emotive dances that capture audiences’ imaginations.
Chloe returned to her homeland of Aotearoa in 2016, since being named Auckland Parks Artist in Residence (2017), choreographed inclusive works for Touch Compass Dance (2018/19), been a CNZ Fellowship recipient and created numerous new touring works. Her international reputation continues to flourish in touring her inclusive aerial work, The Air Between Us, across the globe.
