The Show

Inspired by Neworld Theatre’s King Arthur’s Night, which had its world premiere at Luminato Festival in 2017, this genre-defying documentary film is rooted in a medieval musical play created by an extraordinary company of artists living with and without Down syndrome.

Blending myth, memory, and music, the film moves between an imagined Camelot and the real-world reflections of its creators, including Niall McNeil and Marcus Youssef, alongside director James Long and composer Veda Hille. With humour and heart, it weaves together childhood memories, family relationships, and fantastical characters into a story that is both playful and deeply moving.

Celebrating inclusive creation as a vital artistic language, King Arthur’s Night invites audiences into a shared cinematic experience that explores disability, belonging, and who gets to shape the stories we inherit and pass on.
